An operating system for a synthetic mind

Synthmind Systems is building CIRO: specialised software organs that think, remember and defend themselves as one mind: machine-readable on the inside, human at the edges.

Why it is different

Built like an organism. Governed like an operating system.

Deterministic coordination

The model advises. It never commands.

Most AI systems let a language model decide what happens next, and hope it decides well. In CIRO, organs coordinate over a fixed binary protocol, so dispatch never depends on a model's mood, latency or phrasing. Intelligence is a resource the system draws on, not the mechanism that runs it.

One mind, not a fleet

Every component earns its place in a body plan.

CIRO is not a swarm of interchangeable workers. It is designed as a single synthetic mind: each organ corresponds to a function a mind must have (perception, memory, attention, reason, affect), and a component that maps to no such function must justify its existence. The result is architecture with the completeness check built in.

An immune system

Security is anatomy, not an add-on.

The estate recognises what is not itself and rejects it by default, senses damage from within, learns from what it has survived, and walls off what it cannot heal. Against the attack class that defines this era of AI, the defence is structural: language can ask, but it cannot reach the machinery.

The estate

Four bodies. One mind.

A mind is not a single program. CIRO lives as an estate of bodies, each with its own role, joined by one protocol and one pulse.

  • The brain

    CiroOS

The running core: dispatch, health, memory and personality, coordinated over a deterministic wire protocol that has stayed frozen while everything beneath it evolved.

  • The limb

    CiroDroid

An Android embodiment that gives the mind voice, hearing and a body in the physical world: a limb that holds no keys and makes no plans, exactly as a limb should.

  • The front door

    The Gateway

One chokepoint through which every client reaches every model. Keys, audit and safety live here and nowhere else. Swap the brain behind it and the limbs never notice.

  • The console

    CiroDevTool

The operator's window into the estate: health, memory and doctrine observed and administered from a single desktop surface.

Research in the open

Questions sharp enough to build against.

  • Glyph-native machine communication

If the wire is already machine-typed, can a small model learn to speak machine as its first language, and keep natural language strictly for humans?

  • Anatomy of a Synthetic Mind

The thesis chapter: a literature-grounded map from the functions of mind to a running estate, where every analogy must produce a checkable design decision or be cut.

  • Homeostatic memory

Memory with a metabolism: tiers that consolidate, a system that feels its own fatigue, and a record that is never deleted, only archived.
